Narrow Band UVB Light Therapy
A Next-Level Solution for Hard-to-Treat Skin Issues
If you’ve tried steroid creams or topical treatments without relief — especially on larger areas of the body, hands, or feet — light therapy may be the next step you’ve been looking for. Our medical assistants provide NBUVB light therapy in a safe, controlled setting under provider supervision.
What Is Light Therapy
Narrow Band Ultraviolet B Light (NBUVB)Therapy for Eczema, Psoriasis & Chronic Skin Conditions
Light Therapy, also known as Narrow Band UVB Phototherapy, uses a precise wavelength of ultraviolet light to reduce inflammation, slow overactive skin cell growth, and relieve itching.
Narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy is a targeted light treatment using wavelengths between 311 - 313nm, primarily delivered in dermatology offices for chronic inflammatory and pigmentary skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo and chronic itching.
NB-UVB works by inducing apoptosis in pathogenic skin cells (keratinocytes and T cells), suppressing local immune responses, and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine production, which leads to improvement in conditions characterized by epidermal hyper-proliferation and inflammation.

Short, comfortable sessions inside the NBUVB light box or with a targeted hand/foot device. Treatment is typically administered two to three times per week for 10–14 weeks, with sessions last only minutes.
Monitor Treatment Progress
Schedule maintenance therapy as needed. Adverse effects are generally mild (erythema, pruritus, burning), and the long-term risk of skin cancer is much lower than with other types of light therapy such as PUVA or broad-band UVB therapy.
